1. Origin of development

Based on the city's overall environmental development trend and investment in major construction, and in response to the investment needs driven by the booming industry, the Tainan City Government is committed to building a high-quality investment environment, optimizing the spatial layout of industries, promoting balanced development in coastal areas, and attracting talents and manufacturers to return home. It has selected the Taiwan Sugar Corporation's Sangu Farm in Qigu District to promote the "Tainan City Qigu Science and Technology Industrial Zone Development Plan." Qigu Science and Technology Industrial Park is located next to Provincial Highway 17, with a development area of ​​about 141 hectares. It is adjacent to the West Coast Expressway and National Highway 8, and is about 11 kilometers away from the Zhongshan Gaoding Interchange. The transportation is very convenient. The surrounding area gathers the industrial energy of Tainan Science Park, Shugu Park, Tainan Science and Technology Industrial Zone, and Yongkang Science and Technology Industrial Zone. The geographical location is superior, and it has the advantageous location conditions to develop into a new generation industrial park.

2. There are a total of 8 major categories of industries that can be introduced into this industrial zone, including food, beverages, plastic products, basic metals, metal products, machinery and equipment, computers, optical products and electronic components, automobiles and their parts, other transportation vehicles, and industrial machinery and equipment maintenance and installation industries.

3. Expected benefits
(i) Integrate local characteristic industries, provide local survival space for hometown-type industries, cooperate with surrounding academic and research institutions, and play a role in the ripple effect and industrial chain support of South Science Park.
(ii) After development, it is expected to attract 130 manufacturers, 6,000 jobs, and create an output value of 29 billion.
