The proposed investment or business operation is subject to the "Negative List for Investment by Overseas Chinese and Foreign Nationals – Restricted and Prohibited Industries."

1. Company Name and Business Scope Pre-application:

Applicants may submit 1–5 preferred Chinese company names (reviewed in order by the Ministry of Economic Affairs; only one name will be approved if it meets the requirements) and intended business activities. A company name pre-approval search(Traditional Chinese) is available online.

2. Application for Foreign Investment Approval:

• For non-restricted industries with investment under NT$500 million: processing time is approximately 2–4 days.
• For non-restricted industries with investment under NT$1.5 billion: processing time is approximately 3–5 days.
• For restricted industries, investments exceeding NT$1.5 billion, or merger and acquisition cases: processing time is approximately 10–20 days.
• For cross-border mergers and acquisitions or special/abnormal cases: processing time is approximately 20–30 days.

3. Application for Capital Injection Verification.

4. Company Registration Application:

Please use the Ministry of Economic Affairs Business Item Code Search System(Traditional Chinese) to confirm whether the intended business items require approval, and obtain approval from the competent authority before applying for company registration.

5. Business Registration Application.

6. Factory Registration Application:

Determined based on factory location and whether manufacturing or processing is involved. If the business is not engaged in manufacturing or processing, registration is not required.

7. Import and Export Company Registration:

Applicable to trading businesses. Applications can be submitted through the Import and Export Registration System(Traditional Chinese).
